Method : 1 Using App

Download option is available for App version only. You can’t download videos and other stuff from Hotstar Web. I tried using website but it was not possible. So first of all download latest and updated version of Hotstar App.

If instead of App you want apk file then download Hotstar Apk File easily. After Installing, Open App and make a Sign up process. Remember : Sign up is necessary for downloading any content. For sign up process, there are two ways.

1. Use Email Method for Sign up.
2. Mobile number Verfification Via OTP.

I prefer second method, as who wants to open email account and follow long procedure. Verify your number via OTP and register your account.

Now select the movie, TV shows or Sports event you want to download. Open it and if you find download option at the bottom of your screen then the content is downloadable other wise you can only stream and watch it.

Now Which Content could be downloaded Using Hotstar ?

I tried downloading  lots of English series but I failed to do so. I found that videos, Movies and TV shows which are the product of  Star group is only available for download. Latest Movies can’t be downloaded. Movies which are old enough like 2-3 years back could be downloaded. Sports and English series are only available for streaming purpose.

Method 2 : Using Screen Recorder

If you know how to capture your screen activity then capturing videos is a a easiest task for you. Well, now you need tool/software for downloading episodes from hotstar. I used Movavi Screen recorder and it’s working too good. 100 Mb software and it’s amazing. Paid software but if you are good in using torrent then it’s free for you. You know What I mean :D. Method 3 : Using Livestreamer

This method is somehow typical and require lot of hard work as command from CMD needs to be executed. After testing on my PC, finally I’m ready to bring out details on “How to download Hotstar Videos“. If you excited enough to download videos right on your PC then follow the instruction below. Step 1 : Search for “hotstarsportlivestreamer rar” on Google. This search query will show you path toward download. Download this zip file. It’s around 17 MB in size.

Step 2: Unzip the zipped file using winrar or any other tool you have.

Step 3: You’d be able to hotstarlivestreamer file. Opening this file will pop up CMD terminal with paste the link: message. This is where you need to paste the video link from hotstar.

Step 4: Now on hotstar website, you need to copy the link of your video from url field. Paste this link on CMD and hit enter. Now type the format you want to download and type d  for download. Downloaded videos could be found on videos folder of unzipped file.
